Who we are

Adukkala is a Saturday cloud kitchen run by Sangeetha and Gourie, based in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach us via our contact page.

What we collect

  • Your name, phone number and WhatsApp number
  • Your delivery address, if you choose delivery instead of pickup
  • Your order details — dishes, quantities, notes or special requests
  • Messages you send us via the contact form (name, email, phone, message)
  • Basic technical data such as IP address and browser type, collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure for security and troubleshooting

Why we collect it

We use your data to take, prepare, confirm and deliver your order, to contact you about your order (including payment requests) via WhatsApp, and to respond to messages you send us. This processing is necessary to fulfil the order you place with us. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

Cookies

Our website uses strictly necessary cookies required to keep our team and admin portals working (for staff login sessions). With your consent, given via the cookie banner on our site, we also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (pages visited, general location, device type). Google Analytics only loads after you accept — if you reject or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for our site and choosing "Reject" when the banner reappears.

Who we share it with

We share order and delivery details with WhatsApp (Meta) only to the extent needed to send you order confirmations and payment requests, via links you open yourself. We do not use a third-party payment processor — payments are made by direct bank transfer using details we send you. We do not share your data with advertisers.

How long we keep it

We keep customer and order records for as long as needed to fulfil orders, handle any follow-up questions, and meet our bookkeeping obligations under Dutch law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, as described below.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict how we process your data
  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our contact page.
